Today I went skiing with Helle, a Danish girl living in my barrack. She had brought two pairs of cross-country skis with her to Svalbard, so I borrowed one of them and we went outside to test them. Unfortunately, she didn't have any ski wax, so we were sort of just toddling around, as they were very slippery... :) We went down to "Huset" (restaurant, pub, cafe, nightclub, cinema, community center, etc) and had a look inside, and tried to get up the small hill of the floodlit ski-track (lysløype), but it was difficult with the slippery skis!
