Last week was the famous "Solfestuka" (a week-long festival to celebrate the return of the sun in Longyearbyen). The popular Norwegian band DumDum Boys was playing at Kroa (small-ish pub/pizza place) on Wednesday, and the tickets were sold out immediately after they were put out for sale in February. When we were told that an additional 25 tickets would be sold in the door on the night of the concert, some of the students decided to set up a camp outside Kroa on Tuesday, in order to ensure that they would get a place in this line for the last few tickets. They ended up making a miniature-festival-camp out of it, and they had a really good time, with what must have been a close to 36-hour long party, where most of it was spent outdoors in Svalbard temperatures :)
